Copenhagen

A visit to Copenhagen the cycle capital of Europe where there are no hills. We cycle countryside and coasts, visit castles, see viking ships, go to the Tivoli gardens, photograph the Little mermaid. Flights £48 return, bikes £80, accommodation £120.

This evening we take Brian somewhere special.

Thursday 29 miles

We cycle the coastal route to Dyrehaven where we expect to encounter red, fallow and sika deer. In the middle of Dyrehaven is both the Hermitage Palace and the world’s oldest amusement park, Bakken . We eat lunch at the Brede SpeisHus next to a lake or visit Fribad, a Brazilian grill buffet next to the beach.

This evening we take Russell somewhere special. We eat at the La Perla.


Friday 25 miles

A visit to a fishing village via the sea side today and to see the famous bridge to Sweden. We eat lunch overlooking the harbour in Cafe Blink where beer is £4.50 a pint. Tonight we eat in Spiseloppen in Christiania free town

Saturday 20 miles

In the morning do a tour of the most bike friendly city in the world around wonderful lakes and parks using the green ring. The football starts at 13:15  in the Irish Rover where brunch is available for DK99.

Sunday

Carlsberg Brewery Tour in English 13:00. Perhaps the windmills or fjords today. Probably visit the viking village.
